Abhijeet Mihan Coal Power Plant

The Abhijeet Mihan Coal Power Plant is situated at Khaire Khurd village, Nagpur district, Maharashtra. The total installed capacity of Abhijeet Mihan Coal Power Plant is 546 MWe.

This is a fully operating power plant and the plant is served as base load in Nagpur district. This is a sub-critical thermal power plant and the plant has a 25MW diesel generator for emergency purposes. Coal is the primary fuel used here and the electric power grid from the plant is mainly connected to the regional grid. Total land needed (except for railway siding) for the project is about 315 acres and 37 acres of land is acquired from private parties for Ash dyke area. The main source of water for the plant is by the approval from MADC for 22.6 MLD water from Wadagaon Dam. The main source of coal is from Coal India Limited (CIL) and the power from the plant is directed to three lines: Butibori -Wardha 50 MW line:(1 km); Wardha -Ambazari 200 MW line (7km); line to Mihan SEZ (substations of the plant). The main source of mine for the plant is from Mihan SEZ, RIL, Reliance Energy and Tata Power Trading. The plant has four different units. All the four units has an installed capacity of 61.5 Mwe and all the four units are commissioned on 09-February-2012. The owner and the operating company of the power plant is Abhijeet MADC Nagpur Energy Pvt. Ltd. (AMNEPL). The power plant has selling agreements with Mihan SEZ, PPA with RIL and Short Term PPA with Reliance Energy and Tata Power Trading for supply of power to MSEDC.
