APGENCO is a power producing association in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It carry outprocesses and maintenance of the power plants and also introducing new power projects along with improvement on the project's capacity. The APGENCO was formed in 28 December 1998 and it became functional from 1 February 1999 onwards.

Thermal Power Stations:

1. Dr Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station: The power station is located in the Vijayawada district of Andhra Pradesh. It has an installed capacity of 1760 Megawatt and the plant was first commissioned in 01 November 1979. The primary fuel used for the generation of power for Dr Narla Tata Rao power station is Coal.

2. Rayalaseema Thermal Power Station: The Rayalaseema Thermal Power Station is located in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. It has an installed capacity of 1650 Megawatt and the plant was first commissioned in 1994.

Hydel Power Stations:

1. Chettipeta Mini Hydel: Chettipeta Mini Hydel Power Station is erected in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. It has an installed capacity of 1 Megawatt. The power house is erected in Eluru canal. The plant was commissioned in 01 October 1991.

2. Donkarayi Power House: Donkarayi Dam canal power house is located in the Donkarayi Camp of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. It has an installed capacity of 25 Megawatt and the plant was commissioned in October 1983.

3. Hampi Dam Power House: Hampi Power House is commissioned in 2nd January 1958. The power plant has an installed capacity of 36 Megawatt. The power in Hampi Power House is generated from the water discharge through Power Canal.

4. Lower Sileru Power House: The Power House is located in the Mothugudem in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. It has an installed capacity of 460 Megawatt. The plant was commissioned in 28 March 1976.

5. Machkund Power House: Machkund Hydro Electric Power Station is located in the Eastern Ghats of Duduma falls in Machkund River. The power plant has an installed capacity of 120 Megawatt. It is a joint project Government of Andhra Pradesh and Government of Orissa in the ratio of 70:30.

6. Nagarjuna Sagar Right Canal Power House: The power station is located on the Right Back irrigation canal of Nagarjuna Sagar Reservoir. The power plant has an installed capacity of 90 Megawatt watt and the first unit is commissioned in 24 February 1983.

7. Penna Ahobilam Power Plant: Penna Ahobilam Power House is erected across Tungabhadra high Level Canal in the district of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh. It has an installed capacity of 20 Megawatt. The power plant is first commissioned in 24 July 1987.

8. Srisailam RBPH: Srisailam Right Bank Power House is erected across the Krishna River in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The power station has an installed capacity of 770 Megawatt and the first unit was commissioned in 30 August 1982

9. Tungabhadra Dam Power House: The power station is located in the Hospet city in Bellary district of Karnataka. The power plant has an installed capacity of 36 Megawatt. The first unit of power plant is commissioned in 26 January 1957.

10. Upper Sileru Power House: Upper Sileru Hydro Electric Power station is erected in the midst of Chintapalli agency in the district of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. It has an installed capacity of 240 Megawatt and the first unit was commissioned in 14 October 1967.
