Baspa Hydroelectric Project

Baspa Hydroelectric project has an installed and approved capacity of 300 Megawatt. The type of project is Major. Since, it is greater than 25 Megawatt. The construction of the power project was completed in 2003. Soon after the construction of Power plant, it started its commercial operation in 2003 itself. The Unit Size of the power plant is 300 Megawatt (3 units x 100 Megawatt). There are 3 units in Operation, having an installed capacity of 100 Megawatt each. All the units are commissioned.

How to Reach:Baspa Hydroelectric Station is erected in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. You can reach this hydroelectric power station via Road, Rail or Air. Baspa Power Plant is located at about 70 km away from power plant. You can arrive the power station from Kinnaur via Road. Regular Buses and Taxi Cars are available from Kinnaur to the power station. The most convenient way of travelling to Power Station is by Bus. The nearest railway station to Kinnaur is Kalka railway station, which is located at about 350kilometer from Kinnaur. The nearest airport is Dehradun Airport, which is located at about 154 km from Kinnaur.
