Essar Vadinar Power Plant

Essar Vadinar Power Plant is located in Gujarat State. The plant is located at Vadinar Refinery Complex, which is an industrial place in Devbhoomi Dwarka district, Gujarat state. The overall capacity of Essar Vadinar P1 Combined Heat and Power Plant is 380 MWe.

The plant is mainly used for base load/ Intermediate load in Gujarat State and is a fully operating power plant. This is a combined cycle gas turbine power plant and the electric power grid is mainly connected to capacitive and grid connected load. The primary and secondary fuels used are Natural Gas and fuel oil respectively. Essar Oil is the main source of fuel. The plant has 3 different units. GE is the turbine and generator manufacturers and Thermax is the boiler manufacturer. The first two units has an installed capacity of 110 MWe each and are commissioned on 2010 and 2011 (units 1 and 2) respectively. The third unit is commissioned in 2012 with an installed capacity of 160 MWe.

Gas Turbine -1 9001E, Gas Turbine-2 9001E and Steam Turbine-1 are the turbine models used for units 1, 2 and 3 respectively. This is a Private ownership type power plant and Essar Power is the owner of the plant having the entire 100% share. Essar Power is also the operating company of the plant.

How to Reach: Essar Vadinar Power Plant is erected in the Vadinar Refinery Complex of Devbhoomi Dwarka in Gujarat. You can reach this Essar Vadinar Combined Heat and Power Plant via Road, Rail or Air. You will get buses/taxis from Devbhoomi Dwarka city to the Power Plant. Dwarka railway station is the nearest railway station and Jamnagar airport is the closest airport.
