Godavari Gas Power Plant

Godavari (Kakinada) Gas Power Plant is located in the Beach Road of Uppada village in Kakinada, a place situated in Andhra Pradesh. This is a small village in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, India.

208 MWe is the overall capacity of Godavari (Kakinada) Gas CCPP. The plant is mainly used for Peaking Load. Natural Gas and Naptha is used as the primary and secondary fuels respectively for this plant. The connection for electrical grid is made possible through Regional Grid. GT-1, GT-2, GT-3, and ST-1 are the Turbine Model/Types used in this plant. The Power Plant has 4 different units. The first unit is commissioned on 09-January-1997 with an installed capacity of 47 MWe. The second and third units are commissioned on 01-April-1998 with the installed capacity of 47 MWe each. The fourth unit is commissioned on 31-March-1998 with an installed capacity of 67 MWe.

The first three units the Turbine model types GT-1, GT-2, GT-3 respectively while the fourth unit uses ST-1 as the turbine model. The source of water is mainly from sea water for this plant. The Gas Supply (MMSCMD) required is 1 for 90% PLF and the linkage is 0.91 in this plant. Spectrum Power Generation Ltd. is the owner of this company. The plant is an IPP type ownership plant. Spectrum Power Generation Ltd... is the Operating Company of this plant.
