Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) was established in the month of August in 1993 and is enrolled under the Companies Act, 1956 with the purposes to initiate a way of reorganisation of Power Sector and to summon resources from the market for adding to the generating capacity of the State. Coal based thermal power plants of GSECL

1. Ukai Thermal Power Station

Ukai Thermal Power Plant is a coal based thermal power plant located in the Tapi district of Gujarat. It has a total installed capacity of 1350 Megawatt from six units.

2. Gandhinagar Thermal Power Station

Gandhinagar Thermal Power Station is a coal based thermal power plant located in the Banks of Sabarmati River in the Gandhinagar district of Gujarat. It has a total installed capacity of 870 Megawatt from five units.

3. Wanakbori Thermal Power Station

Wanakbori Thermal Power Station is a coal based thermal power plant located in the bank of Mahi River in the kheda district of Gujarat. It has a total installed capacity of 1470 Megawatt from seven units.

4. Sikka Thermal Power Station

Sikka Thermal Power Station is a coal based thermal power plant located in the Sikka village of Jamnagar district of Gujarat. It has a total installed capacity of 500 Megawatt from two units.

Lignite based thermal power plants of GSECL

1. Kutch Lignite Thermal Power Station

Kutch Lignite Thermal Power Station is a lignite based thermal power plant located in the Panadhro village of Kutch district in Gujarat. It has a total installed capacity of 290 Megawatt from four units.

2. Bhavnagar Lignite Thermal Power Station (BLTPS)

Bhavnagar Lignite Thermal Power Station is a lignite based power plant erected in the Padva village of Bhavnagar district in Gujarat. It has a total installed capacity of 500 Megawatt from two units

Gas based thermal power plants of GSECL

1. Dhuvaran Gas Based Combined cycle power plant (CCPP)

Dhuvaran Gas based combined cycle power plant is a gas fired power plant situated in the Dhuvaran village of Khambhat town in the Anand district of Gujarat. It has a total installed capacity of 219 Megawatt from 2 units.

2. Utran Gas Based Power Station,

Utran Gas Based Power Station is a gas fired power plant located in the Surat district of Gujarat. It has a total installed capacity of 510 Megawatt from 6 units.

Hydro power stations of GSECL

1. Ukai Hydro Power Station

Ukai Hydro Power Station is a hydro based power plant erected in the Ukai Dam of Songadha Taluk in Tapi District, Gujarat. It has a total installed capacity of 300 Megawatts from four units.

2. Kadana Hydro Power Station

Kadana Hydro Power Station is a hydro based power plant erected at the Kadana Dam of Mahisagar district in Gujarat. It has a total installed capacity of 240 Megawatts from four units

3. Panam Canal Mini Hydro Power Station

Panam Canal Mini Hydro Power Station is also a hydro based power plant located at the Panam Dam in Panchmahal District. The power station has a total installed capacity of 2 Megawatts from 2 units. The power plant is commissioned in 1994.
