GVK Jegurupadu II Gas Power Plant

It is well known that the fully operating power plant named GVK Jegurupadu II Gas CCGT is located in Jegurupadu Village, near Mandal Headquarters Kadiam, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, India. The place Jegurupadu village is known by GVK Jegurupadu I Gas CCGT and GVK Jegurupadu II Gas CCGT power plants.

The overall capacity of GVK Jegurupadu II Gas CCGT Power Plant is 220 MWe. The plant is mainly used for Peaking Load and Natural Gas is used as the primary fuel. Naptha is used as the secondary fuel. Alstom is the Turbine Manufacturer in this plant. This plant is operated by AP Transco (PPA signed in 2003) and like as GVK Jegurupadu I Gas CCGT, the Regional Grid is used as the connection for electrical grid. GT-1 GT13E2 and ST-1 are the Turbine Model/Types used in this plant. One 1+1+1 CCGT Block is the Configuration of Boiler/Turbine/Gen in this plant.

The Power Plant has 2 different units. The first unit is commissioned on 09-October-2005 with an installed capacity of 140 MWe. The second unit is commissioned on 11- November -2005 with the total installed capacity of 80 MWe. Alstom is the Generator Manufacturer and Boiler/HRSG Manufacturer of this plant. The Gas Supply (MMSCMD) required is 1.06 for 90% PLF and the linkage is 1.03 in this plant. Rs 7780000000/- is the capital cost considered for this plant in the year 2006. The owners of this power plant are GVK Power and Infrastructure Limited. with 53% share and Asian Infrastructure Fund with 30% share. This is an IPP type ownership plant and Alstom (Switzerland and India) is the Construction/EPC Contractor of this plant. GVK Power and Infrastructure Limited is the Operating Company of this plant.
