Safety methods to protect your home and family from Novel Corona Virus Disease 2019 or CoViD19 or SARS-COV-2 Pandemic – an only vaccine available right now!

Novel Corona Virus Disease 2019 – know the reality.

Here we describe some methods to fight against novel corona virus 2019 or CoViD19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019) in short also known as SARS-CoV-2 as it is a modified form SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome version 2) virus to protect our home and family members. The virus was first reported in December 2019 in Wuhan in China. Several allegations, scandals and scam stories (which might possibly true) associated with the source of the virus and its spread all over the world, however still it is in dark or cloudy or less availability of the knowledge to the public. However now it is a fact that the virus spread globally, almost in all nations and is now a full-fledged pandemic. Now it is important how to contain the virus or even how to fight against the pandemic effectively at least to prevent its spread in our family rather than its source. It’s very hard to contain by Government or by medical professionals or even by biologists or biotechnologists since it is a new virus (hard to discover testing methodologies and treatment facilities) more and above it is a retrovirus (which makes it hard to make an effective vaccination or to discover an effective drug or even treatment due to the frequent modification of the virus behaviour). Hence it is not a good practice nor practical to expect any help from Government, other health care professionals, etc. Self- awareness is the only way to survive.

The only effective vaccine currently available for the pandemic is Human Intelligence:

Yes, ‘Human Intelligence is the only vaccine for CoViD19 pandemic’ at present! The only thing currently works is, try to keep away from the reach of virus by knowing it well by utilizing common sense. ‘Hide away from the enemy’ – is the natural law when enemy is the stronger, which is applicable in the case of Novel Corona Virus 2019 pandemic also. Just realise the truth! Hereby, we points out some practical measurements to keep SARS-CoV-2 away from you as well as your family. Before getting into the things, you must keep in mind some properties of the virus fundamentally.

Some facts about the virus SARS-CoV-2:

  • The virus cannot live for a longer period outside its host cell or tissues. In other words, the virus cannot survive for a longer period nor get multiplied (reproduced) outside from a living organism (here a human body).
  • The size of SARS-CoV-2 ranges in between 70nm to 90nm which is very fine and is difficult to filter out normally.
  • The SARS-CoV-2 infected persons show any of the noted symptoms are ranges only in between 10% to 20% or even less than 5% in some places. The remaining nearly 80% are asymptomatic.
  • Asymptomatic infected patients also become the carriers of virus and can spread virus to non-infected.
  • Depending on the surfaces, materials and its environment, the survival period of the virus varies keeps the virus active state. Some findings are –

  • Air (at room temperature) – the virus keep active not more than 3 hours

  • Copper metal - the virus keep active not more than 4 hours
  • Paper/ cardboard - the virus keep active not more than 24 hours
  • Wood, cloth - the virus keep active not more than 48 hours (2 days)
  • Plastic, glass, – the virus keep active in between 72 hours (3 days) and 96 hours (4 days)
  • Steel, Iron, - the virus keep active in between 120 hours (5 days) and 168 hours (7 days)

  • The virus spread or an infection take place only through the affected person’s patients nasal fluids, saliva droplets, mucus, etc. which expels into the surroundings while he/ she respires, speak, cough, sneeze, spit, blow, etc. thereby contaminating the air, objects, surfaces in the surroundings and such virus happens to enter into the others or non-infected ones respiratory system through nose, mouth and eyes.

  • Above said contaminated droplets expelled in to the air and surrounding objects or surfaces by an infected person may very tiny which ranges from size 100nm to 200nm and is difficult to filter normally.
  • Recent studies shows greater will be the chance of infection if gathering inside closed areas, hence minimize such circumstances. Using of air conditioners in closed area further increases the chances of infection.
  • Above said infection happens majorly through five ways (as per various reports and findings till date), -

  • By direct in inhalation of contaminated air (with droplets) by an infected person.

  • By direct contamination of non-infected person’s eyes, nose, lips/ mouth while talking, coughing, sneezing, etc.
  • By physical contact with an infected person such as through handshaking, hugging, supporting, holding, caring, etc.
  • By indirect means through contaminated surfaces or objects where the virus survives in active state while a non-infected person touch on it by his hands and then contaminated hands get contacted into his nose, eyes, lips or mouth.
  • By contact with infected person’s utensils the belongings shared with the infected person such as smartphones, telephone, other gadgets or wearable, cloths, microphone, other utensils, etc.

  • The CoViD19 could by destroyed by using proper disinfectants and some WHO (World Health Organization) recommended disinfectants appropriate to disinfect CoViD19 are Soap/ Soap solution, Hand sanitizers with alcohol content ranges in between 70% to 90%, Wet wipes, Hydrogen Peroxide solution with 0.13% , Sodium Hypochlorite solution and other Bleach solutions (3 teaspoon or 12.6gm of bleach in 1 litre water).

  • Later studies show the virus could not survive in boiling water at 100oC and water at room temperature (at 28oC) more than 72 hours.
  • Some other disinfectants are also recommended by United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) are published and updated on their official website.
  • The virus can’t survive at temperature 70oC or above.

By keeping the above things in mind, we could effectively reduce the infection possibility by rearranging our daily lifestyle and household system at home. Some methodologies described hereby,

At Outdoors, practices should be carried out:

  • ‘Social Distancing’ is the only effective way and it is the most important thing. Avoid gathering. Ensure at least of 6ft or 2 meters and the ideal is 20ft or 7 meters distance away from everyone around you.
  • Properly wear a quality mask (N95 mask without valve) by properly covering nose and mouth at outdoors which protects you from the infection through the respiratory system. Never touch the mask with hands while wearing. Sanitize your hands and use the strings in both sides to wear it. Bend the middle metal part (top at nose) of the mask if necessary or in first use.
  • Wearing a goggles while outdoors protects the individual from the possible infection through eyes while talking with an infected person. Touch or hold only the legs of goggles to wear/ remove it.
  • Practice wearing of mask and goggles while at outdoors in default.
  • Avoiding touching or getting in contact (especially with hands) unnecessarily with objects and surfaces at outdoors or public places.
  • Recent studies shows cotton mask with multiple layers which is cheap and affordable also reduces the risk of infection.
  • Keep a Hand sanitizer with alcohol content above 70% with you at outdoors and sanitize the hands frequently and before every time you intend to touch or contact with face particularly in your nose, eyes, lips and mouth.
  • Sanitize your hands immediately each and every time after touching or contacting any objects or surfaces at outdoors or while after getting in physical contact with others.
  • Sanitize your hands frequently while to enter into a gathering or even in public places.
  • Sanitize your hands after using or in contact or touch your smartphones or mobile, bag, other belongings immediately after using at outdoors.
  • Ensure aseptic condition of hands while removing and wearing of mask and goggles, your hands should clean and sanitized and touch or hold only at the strings of the mask and legs of the goggles.
  • Ensure washing of your hands and face with soap and water before intake of any food at outdoors. If not possible, ensure at least of sanitizing the hands with a recommended sanitizer as said above.

Home or indoor practices should be carried out after your outings:

  • Be aware not to exchange/ handover the goods you bring in with others in the home, or interact or eat/ drink or serve before sanitizing it or interact with them as in Pre- COVID days.
  • Wash your hands with a soap and water immediately after reaching home for 1 minute or at least of 20 seconds rubbing the hands thoroughly with soap.
  • Remove your face mask and goggles. Use the strings of the mask and legs of the goggles to remove it from face. Again wash your hands and then face with soap and water as above. You can apply soap to your dry face to avoid virus particles flowing from your skin area enter eyes, nose, and mouth/lips.
  • Avoid entering the home with your shoes. Remove and keep your foot wears outside home if possible.
  • Be aware, not to interact with others, especially with children and elderly people or to touch things or surfaces indoor before bathing.
  • Keep a box (a copper or cardboard box is ideal, otherwise cover it with a newspaper) in entering your home in a safe area out reach of children and others, also ensure its safety from possibilities of getting stolen/ mishandled/ come in unnoticed contact and keep every goods and belongings you bring in it (including mobile phones, purse, etc. whatever carried with you at outdoors). Disinfect the stuff kept in the box before using it in proper way with proper disinfectants if possible, otherwise wash your hands properly with soap and water after using it. Everything in the box will be safe to use without sanitizing or get it out after 168 hours (7 days) if it kept isolated separately, but ensure it is out of reach of children and such isolation is ideal to carry out in another isolation box, to avoid cross contamination from newly deposits. However papers documents can be made almost safe by ironing it with higher temperature above 80oc before said period or safe to use 72 hours (3 days) of isolation.
  • Again wash your hands with a soap and water immediately after using any susceptible surface or things.
  • Remove your dress and wash it immediately if possible or at least soak it in a detergent solution. If it both are not possible keep it safe out of reach of children and others in a bin or a bag.
  • Disinfect the mask every time after using it with soap water washing and dry it with direct sunlight and then iron the mask with higher temperature if reusing it. The mask can be disinfect with boiling water if the material could sustain the boiling point of water (100oC).
  • Disinfect the pocket hand sanitizer bottle with soap and water, since it used to carry with you on outdoors and to handle risky situations may get contaminated very easily.
  • Thoroughly bath immediately if possible. Otherwise wash thoroughly and immediately your hands again with soap and water, then wash your face, eyes, nose, lips and with soap and water, then again wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
  • While bathing, ensure wash your hands with soap and water, then apply soap on your face first, then apply hair shampoo on head, then apply soap on whole body, remain soap for 1 minute then wash off.
  • Shower for bathing is ideal and is recommended. In case of using of bucket and water keep the bucket and water on 2ft or 0.5 meter elevation or on a chair to prevent possible re-entry of contaminated water/ droplets from floor in the bucket water.
  • Never enter into the bedroom or bed without bath properly. Rest outside if necessary before having a thorough bath keep the rest place or bed out from access or use of children.
  • Now you can serve/ have food after wash hands and face with soap and water. Serving/ having food after a thorough bath is ideal.
  • Disinfect the smartphone and other electronic gadgets along with the other belongings (including wearable, jewellery, water bottles, containers, etc.) which used or carried with you at outdoors while immediately after returned home, before using it.
  • Never use contaminated or non-sanitized belongings which you carried outdoors after the bath. If in necessary situation, be aware and careful about possible infection, hence wash your hands with soap and water thoroughly immediately after its use.
  • If you have to compromise with any of the said security measures or being suspicious in risking an infection, keep yourself quarantined for 14 days (236 hours) and again reverse quarantined for another 14 days (236 hours) to avoid possible infection to your dear ones or family from you.

Indoor practices should be carried out:

  • Ensure your home well ventilated and air circulation.
  • Keep out of close interaction with the people or family members gone outside.
  • Keep away from the guests, try to aware them the infection risks for both parties.
  • If there is a guest, be cautious to keep them comfortable only at visitor’s room. Never make them rover around. Keep social distancing norms from them (with a distance at least of 6ft or 2 meters). Try wear mask while interacting with them.
  • After the visit, wipe the surface they handled and possible surfaces shed with their droplets with a proven disinfectant solution. Everything handled by the guests should be properly disinfected with appropriate disinfectants after his/ her visit. Never gather over at home.
  • Keep your private room, bedroom and bed strictly out of reach from visitors/ contaminated dress or belongings. Don’t contaminate your indoors by wandering inside before getting self-cleansed once you reach from outside or touching contaminated surface or interacting with outsiders.
  • Every packet food items should transfer from its packet to clean container while immediately, since the packets may contaminated by virus from super markets or shop.
  • Wash and soak fruits and vegetables with a bleach solution at least for 20 minutes.
  • Aware children about the pandemic and try its best to keep them away from all possibilities of infection, since children under age 10 at greater risk more and above they make greater risk of spread if get infected.
  • Be clean and tidy in general.
  • Intake of Vitamin D, Vitamin C and Zinc from a medical consultant will boost your immunity in general which is enables you to keep away from hospitals.
