IMFA Thermal Power Plant Choudwar Odisha

The IMFA Thermal Power Station is located at Choudwar, Cuttack district, Odisha, India. The total installed capacity of Choudwar IMFA Coal Power Station is 258 MWe.

This is a fully operating power plant and the power from the plant is mainly used as base load in Odisha state. Here coal is used as the primary fuel and mercury control device is not used in this plant. This is a Sub critical thermal type plant. The main source of water for the plant is from the river Mahanadi. The power plant has no environmental issues in choudwar and has ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 Certifications for environmental safety. The plant has five different units. The first two units has an installed capacity of 54 MWe. The third unit is a duel fuel plant with an installed capacity of 30 MWe. The third unit uses a mixture of coal & furnace gas as fuel. The fourth and fifth units are commissioned in the year 2013 with an installed capacity of 60 MWe. This is a CPP ownership power plant and the CPP is for IMFA Group. The owner of the power plant is Indian Charge Chrome Ltd. (ICCL) IMFA Group. Indian Charge Chrome Ltd. and Orissa Grid are the operating companies of the plant. Indian Metals & Ferro are the sponsors of the plant.
