IOCL Panipat Captive Power Plant is located in Haryana State. The plant can be located at Panipat District in Haryana State. The overall capacity of IOCL Panipat Cogeneration Power Plant is 110 MWe.

The plant is mainly used as base load in Haryana state and is a high efficiency and low environmental impact type power plant. This is a combined cycle gas turbine power plant and is also served as capacitive cogeneration plant. natural gas and naptha are used as the primary and secondary fuels respectively. GAIL pipeline is the main source of fuel and CBJ is the pipeline used for transporting the fuel. The cogeneration steam is supplied to the IOCL Panipat Refinery industry. The supply rate is about 110 Tonnes/hour.

The plant has three different units. The first and second units are commissioned on 02-March-2001 and 09-April-2003 respectively. The third unit is commissioned on 18-January- 2004. All the three units has an installed capacity of 35 MWe. BHEL/GE is the turbine manufacturer and the turbine models used for different units are: GT-1 Frame 6 (unit 1), GT-2 Frame 6 (unit 2) and GT-3 Frame 6 (unit 3). The generator manufacturer is also BHEL. This is a government captive ownership type plant and Indian Oil is the owner of the plant having all the 100% share. This is a GOI financed project and Government of India is the regulatory authority of the plant. Indian Oil is the operating company of the plant.
