Kadra Hydro Power Plant

The first unit of Kadra Hydro Power Plant is commissioned in 1997 with an installed capacity of 50 MW. After that the second and third units are commissioned consecutively in 1999 itself with an installed capacity of 50 Megawatt for each units. So the power plant has a total installed capacity of 150 Megawatt and the type of project is Major, since the size is greater than 25 Megawatt. The Status of the power plant is Operational and the water source is from Kalinadi River. The basin of the power station is west flowing rivers coming from Tapi to Tadri. The Southern Hydroelectric Region is its location.

The power plant is owned and under the control of State Government. The operating company of power plant is Karnataka Power Corporation Limited. The beneficiary states of power plant are Karnataka and other neighbouring states of South India. The completion of power project was in 1997.
