Kalisindh Thermal Power Plant Jhalawar
Kalisindh Thermal Power Station is erected at a distance of 12 kilometres away from the Jhalawar city in the Jhalawar district of Rajasthan in the country. The power plant is run and operated by the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd.
Its chimney pipe has a tallness of 275 metres. The two cooling towers of the power plant are 202 metres high and the biggest in the world. The Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) service provider for the project is BGR Energy Systems Limited.
The Kalisindh Thermal Power Plant Jhalawar is commissioned in 2014 March. It has an approved capacity of 1200 Megawatt. The installed capacity of the thermal power plant is also 1200 Megawatt. The status of the thermal power plant is Operational. The source of coal for the production of power is from Paras east and Kanta basin of Rajasthan. Also the source of water for the cooling of plant is collected from the Kali sindh River. The primary fuel is also Coal. The type of the plant is Super Critical Thermal. The Unit size of this thermal power plant is 1200 Megawatt (600 Megawatt x 2 units). There are two units in operational. They are Unit 1 and Unit 2. The first unit is commissioned in 2014 March with an installed capacity of 600 Megawatt. Similarly the second unit is commissioned in 2014 June with an installed capacity of 600 Megawatt. Also stage 2 with two more units (Unit 3 and Unit 4) is proposed with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt for each units, which are now shelved.
