The ACB Kasaipalli Thermal Power Plant is situated at Chakabura Village, Korba district, Chhattisgarh. The powe plant can be easily accessible by going through Korba-Champa highway and Katghora Bilaspur Highway. The total installed capacity of the power plant is 270 MWe.

This is a partially operating power plant and the power from the plant is mainly used as base load in Korba district. Coal washery wastes is the primary fuel used here and the electric power from the plant is connected to the regional grid. This is a sub-critical thermal type power plant (a 30MW pilot plant is on same site). 400kV Sipat Pooling Station is the connecting substation and Waste from adjacent coal beneficiation plant is the main source of coal in this plant. Gevra is the main mine source of the plant. The cooling of the water is done by Kholar Nalla at a rate of 27500 cum/day.

The plant has two different units. Both the two units has an installed capacity of 135 MWe each. The first unit is commissioned on 13-December-2011 and the second unit is commissioned in the year 2012. The owner of the power plant is ACB India Limited by owing all the 100% share of the plant. This is an IPP ownership type power plant and ACB India Limited is the operating company of the plant. On 26-February-2007, the plant signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (200MW) and Chhattisgarh State Power Trading Company Limited. The PPA contract is for the sale of approximately 200 MW of electricity generated by the Project.

How to Reach: Kasaipalli Thermal Power Plant is located in the Chakabura Village of Korba district in Chhattisgarh. Korba Railway Station is the nearest railway station and Raipur Airport is the nearest airport.
