Khara Hydro Power Project is erected in the Upstream of Tajewala Dam in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. The power project is commissioned in 1992 with a total installed capacity of 72 MW. The type of plant is water discharged from Kulhal Power House to Khara Power House. The hydroelectric status of the power project is running. The source of water for the power plant is Asan River. The Hydroelectric Basin of the hydro power project is Ganga Basin. The power project is erected in the northern hydroelectric region of the country. The Main Reservoir where the power plant is constructed is Asan Reservoir of Dhalipur Lake.

The power project is owned by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh and the operator of the plant is Uttar Pradesh Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited. The Beneficiary States of the power plant are Uttar Pradesh and its nearby states. The power project completed its construction in 1992 and after that the working of the plant is started. The total number of turbines in the plant is three and capacity for each turbine is 24 MW. The type of turbine built in the power house is Francis Vertical Shaft. The Turbine Manufacturer of the plant is Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) of Haridwar in India. The Generator manufacturer of plant is also BHEL. The unit size of the plant is 72 MW. There are three units in operation and all the units are commissioned.
