Matatila Hydroelectric Project
Matatila Hydroelectric Project is erected at the Betwa River of Matatila village of Lalitpur district in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The power plant is commissioned in 1965 with an approved and installed capacity of 30 MW. The type of project is Major, since the capacity is greater than 25 MW. The status of power plant is completed and are operational. The water sourced for the generation of power is from Betwa River. The Hydroelectric basin of power plant is Ganga Basin and the hydroelectric development type is Storage. The power station is located in the North Hydroelectric Region of India.
The Matatila Hydroelectric Project is owned by State Government and the operating company is Uttar Pradesh Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited. The beneficiary states of the power plant are Uttar Pradesh and its nearby states. The completion of the power project was in 1965, after that the power plant started its operations. The total number of turbines in the power house is three and capacity per each turbine is 10 Megawatt. The type of Turbines used is Kaplan. The manufacturer of turbine and generator for the power house is by Hitachi Japan.
There are three units in operation and all the three units are commissioned. The Unit Size of the power plant is 10 MW of 3 units. i.e., the total installed capacity is 30 Megawatt.
