Monarchak Gas Power Plant India

The Monarchak CCPP Power Plant is situated in West Tripura District. The plant can be located at Monarchak, West Tripura District, Tripura India. The total installed capacity of the plant is 101 MWe.

This is fully operating and is a combined cycle gas turbine power plant. The plant is used as base load in Monarchak. Here natural gas is used as the primary fuel and the electric power from the plant is directly connected to the regional grid. The main source of fuel for the plant is from ONGC gas field in Tripura and water from Gumti River is taken as the main source of water. The capital cost of the plant in 2015 is 623.44 Crores.

The plant has two different units. The first unit is commissioned in November 2014 with an installed capacity of 63 MWe. The second unit has an installed capacity of 38 MWe and is commissioned on 14-January- 2016. BHEL India is the turbine and generator manufacturer for the plant. Gas Turbine -1 6FA is the turbine model used in the first unit, while Steam Turbine-1 is used in the second unit. North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd (NEEPCO) is the owner of the plant owing all the 100% share and also NEEPCO is the operating company of the plant.
