Myntdu Leshka Hydro Electric Project

Myntdu Leshka Hydro Electric Project is located in the Myntdu Dam of Jaintia Hills District in Meghalaya of India. The power project is commissioned in 2012 with an approved and installed capacity of 126 MW. The type of hydroelectric project is Major as it has total capacity greater than 25 MW. The type of plant is Dam having run-of-river generation. The power project is erected in the Myntdu Dam. The status of power plant is completed and are Operational. The Engineering, Procurement and Construction contractor of the power project is done by the Central Electricity Authority, Sew Infrastructure Ltd. Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited is the operator of the power station. The beneficiary states of the power plant are Meghalaya and its nearby states including Assam. The power project was completed in 2012 and soon it begin its operations. The total number of turbines in the power plant is three and capacity per each turbine is 42 MW. The type of Turbine used is Francis Vertical Shaft. The manufacturer of both turbine and generator of the power plant is by the VA Tech. The unit size of power plant is 126 MW, having 3 units of 42 MW each. All the three units in the plant are commissioned.
