National Thermal Power Corporation Limited is country’s chief energy corporation company with roots fixed in the year, 1975 to quicken power generation in the country. From fossil fuels it has ventured into producing power via hydro, atomic and renewable energy sources. In the year 2004, NTPC introduced its Initial Public Offering containing of around 5.5 percentage as fresh issue and 5.5% as proposal for sale by the Government of India. NTPC thus turn out to be a registered company in the month 2004 with the Government allotting around 90 percent of the equity share capital. In the beginning of year, 2010, the Shareholding of country’s government was decreased from 90 percent to 85 percent through an added public offer. Government of India has further divested around ten percent shares through OFS way in the beginning of year 2013.
