Neyveli Zero Lignite Power Station

The Neyveli Zero Lignite Power Station is situated at Uthangal, Neyveli, Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, India. The total installed capacity of Neyveli Zero Lignite Power Station is 250 MW.

This is a sub critical thermal power plant and the power plant is used for Base Load. Here Lignite is used as the primary fuel. The main source of coal is from Adjacent Neyveli Lignite Mines. The electric power grid is connected to the regional grid. The operator is Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Transmission and the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) will continue until December 2032. The name of the substation connected to the plant is Adjacent Neyveli Substation. The plant has only one installed unit having one Boiler, Turbine and Generator. The first and only unit has an installed capacity of 250 MW. The commissioned date of the unit is 11 October 2002.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) is the boiler manufacturer for the plant. Here steam turbine is used for the plant with Lignite as fuel.
