NLC India has five pithead Thermal Power Stations with an aggregate capacity of 3240 MW. Further, NLC India has installed 34 Wind Turbine Generators of capacity 1.50 MW each and also commissioned 440 MW Solar Photo Voltaic Power plant in Neyveli, resulting in an overall power generating capacity of 3731 MW(excl. JVs).

Barsingsar Thermal Power Station

Barsingsar Thermal Power Station is erected in the Barsingsar village of Kolayattaluk in the district of Bikaner in Rajasthan. The 250 Megawatt lignite fuelled power plant is undertaking by Neyveli Lignite Corporation. There are two units in power plant with an installed capacity of 125 Megawatt for each units. The power plant is commissioned in December 2011. Lignite is the type of primary fuel used. The source of coal for the generation of power is from Barsingsar mines. The technology used in the power plant is Subcritical. The Boiler Turbine Generator of the power plant is manufactured by the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited.

Bithnok Thermal Power Plant

Bithnok Thermal Power Plant is erected in the Bithnok village of Bikaner district in Rajasthan. The status of the power plant is under approval. The proposed capacity of the thermal power plant is 250 MW and the plant is expected to be commissioned in 2020. The power plant is undertaking by the NLC India limited. Bithnok Thermal Power Plant is a coal fired power plant, with coal is used as primary fuel. Lignite is the type of coal used. The power plant is using the subcritical technology. The EPC Contractor of this power project is Reliance Power.

Neyveli Thermal Power Station Phase I

Neyveli Thermal Power Station Phase 1 is erected in the Neyveli village of Cuddalore district. The status of the power plant is Operational. The Boiler, Turbine and Generator of the power plant is manufactured by Taganrog Metallurgical Plant, LMZ and Electrosila respectively. The power plant is commissioned in July 1962. The approved capacity of the thermal power plant is 1020 Megawatt. It is using coal as primary fuel and the type of coal is Lignite. The power plant is owned and undertaking by NLC India Limited.

Neyveli Thermal Power Station Phase II

Neyveli Thermal Power Station Phase 2 is erected in the Neyveli village of Cuddalore district. The plant is using the Super critical technology. The status of the power plant is Operational. The source of coal is from Neyveli Lignite Mine. The primary fuel used for the production of power is Coal and the type of coal used is Lignite. The power plant is owned and controlled by NLC India Limited. The boiler and turbine make of power plant is by Ganz-Danubius and Franco Tosi respectively. The power plant is commissioned in March 1986. There are 7 units in Operation with an installed capacity of 1470 Megawatt.

NTPL Thermal Power Station

The NTPL Thermal Power Station is erected in the Harbour Estate of Tuticorin. The power plant is managed and owned jointly by the TANGEDCO and Neyveli Lignite Corporation. The plant is using the Sub Critical Technology. The status of the power plant is functional. The primary fuel used for the generation of power is Coal. The source of Coal is from Mahanadi Coalfields. The power plant is commissioned in March 2015. There are 2 units in operation with an installed capacity of 1000 Megawatt.
