The OP Jindal Thermal Power Plant is situated at 20 km North West of Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh, India. The total installed capacity of OP Jindal Thermal Power Plant is 160 MW.

This is a sub critical thermal power station. Here Coal is used as primary fuel and Oil is used as secondary fuel. The main source of coal is from Captive Coal Mines (5.25 MTPA) which is 9 km North-North-west from the station by cross-country conveyer pipeline, which is 7 km long. The electric power grid from the power plant is connected to the national grid and is operated by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL). The substation connected to the plant is 400 KV Double Circuit transmission line from the main station to the PGCIL sub-station at Raipur (258 km).The water source for the generation of the power is from a 18 meter high Dam built at river Kurket. The plant has eight installed units. The first four units have an installed capacity of 250 MW each. The fifth to eighth units have an installed capacity of 600 MW each. The commissioned dates of all units are:

Unit 1 – 2 September 2007

Unit 2 – 6 March 2008

Unit 3 – 10 February 2008

Unit 4 – 17 June 2008

Unit 5 – 2014 March

Unit 6 – 2014 April

Unit 7 – 2015 January
