Parichha Thermal Power Station is located at the Parichha village in the district of Uttar Pradesh in India, which is around 25 kilometres North East away from the Jhansi on the bank of Betwa River.

The plant has two stages and having 6 units altogether. The machinery equipments of the Power station is brought from BHEL and other companies. The coal to all these units is fed from coal mines of BCCL and ECL Limited by means of rail.

Parichha Thermal Power Station is commissioned in 31 March 1984. The approved capacity of this thermal power plant is 1140 Megawatt. The installed capacity of this thermal power plant is also 1140 Megawatt. The status of this power station is Operational. The source of coal is from coal mines of Bharat Coking Coal Limited andEastern Coalfields Limited by the means of railways. The source of water is from adjacent of Paricha Dam on Betwa River. The power plant is used for the Base Load. The primary fuel used for the generation of power is Coal. The secondary fuel used is fuel oil. The type of coal is Bituminous Coal. The type of plant is Sub Critical Thermal. The Manufacturer of Boiler is BHEL Hyderabad (Unit 1 & 2) and BHEL India (Unit 3 to 6). The Manufacturer of Turbine is BHEL Hyderabad (Unit 1 & 2) and BHEL India (Unit 3 to 6). The Manufacturer of Generator is BHEL Hyderabad (Unit 1 & 2) and BHEL India (Unit 3 to 6). The owner and operator of Thermal Power Plant is Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) under the Ownership of State Government.

The unit sizes of this thermal power plant is 1140 Megawatt (110 Megawatt x 2 + 210 Megawatt x 2 + 250 Megawatt x 2). There are six units in operation. The first unit is commissioned in 31 March 1984 with an installed capacity of 110 Megawatt. Similarly the second unit is commissioned in 25 February 1985 with an installed capacity of 110 Megawatt. The third unit is commissioned in 25 November 2006 with an installed capacity of 210 Megawatt. Also the fourth unit is commissioned in 01 December 2007 with an installed capacity of 210 Megawatt. After that the fifth unit is commissioned in 24 May 2012 with an installed capacity of 250 Megawatt. Finally the sixth unit is commissioned in 11 March 2013 with an installed capacity of 250 Megawatt.
