Pong Hydro Power Station

The Pong Hydroelectric Project is commissioned in January 1978. The approved capacity of the plant is 396 MW. The type of project is Major, since it is generating more than 25 MW. The type of power plant is a Dam on the river having a Reservoir. The status of power plant is completed and are Operational. The water source of power plant is Beas River and the basin is Indus River. The power plant is located in the North Hydroelectric Region. Rather than Himachal Pradesh, the other beneficiary states of the power plant are neighbouring states of Himachal Pradesh.
