Priyadarshini Jurala Hydro Electric Project

Priyadarshini Jurala Hydro Electric Project is erected in the Mahabubnagar district of Telangana in India. The first power project unit is commissioned in 2008 with an installed capacity of 39 MW. The total installed capacity of power plant is 234 MWe. The type of project is Major as its capacity is larger than 25 MWe. The current status of project is operational. Here the hydroelectric development type of power house is Storage; with its position is Dam Toe. The construction of the plant is completed in 2008. The source of water for the generation of power is from Krishna River. Krishna is also the basin of power project. The power project is erected in the Southern Hydroelectric Region of the country with its hydroelectric basin of east flowing rivers.

The Priyadarshini Jurala Hydro Electric Project is owned by the State Government and the operating company of the plant is Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TSGENCO). There are six turbines used in the plant. The unit size of the plant is 6 units having a capacity of 39 MWe each. There are six units in operation and all are commissioned. The commissioned date of each unit are listed below.

Unit 1 – 28 March 2008 – 39 MW

Unit 2 – 31 August 2008 - 39 MW

Unit 3 – 27 June 2009 - 39 MW

Unit 4 – 28 August 2010 - 39 MW

Unit 5 – 09 November 2010 - 39 MW
