Ramgarh Gas Power Plant

The Ramgarh Gas Thermal Power Station can be located at Ramgarh, 60km from Jaisalmer city, Rajasthan. The total installed capacity of the plant is 270.5 MWe.

This is a fully operating plant and is used as base load in Rajasthan. This is a combined cycle gas turbine power plant and natural gas is used as the primary fuel. Light fuel oil/diesel is used as the secondary fuel and the linkage is 0.75. The gas supply needed for 90% PLF is 1.18 and the electric power is mainly connected to the regional grid. The plant has six different units.

The first and second units are commissioned on 15-November-1994 and 12-January-1996. The first unit has an installed capacity of 3 MWe and the second has 35.5 MWe. The third and fourth units are commissioned on 07-August-2002 and 31-March-2003 with an installed capacity of 37.5 and 37.8 MWe respectively. The fifth and sixth units are commissioned on 20-March-2013 and 05-April-2014 with an installed capacity of 110 and 50 MWe respectively. Gas Turbine 501, Gas Turbine -1 6001, Gas Turbine-2, Steam Turbine-1, Gas Turbine-3 and Steam Turbine -2 are the turbine models used in the six units respectively. BHEL is the turbine and generator manufacturer of the plant. This is a state government ownership power plant and the owner is Rajasthan RV Utpadan Nigam Ltd. having all the 100% share. Rajasthan RV Utpadan Nigam Ltd. is the operating company of the plant.
