Ratnagiri I Dabhol Gas Power Plant

Ratnagiri I (Dabhol) Gas CCGT Power Plant is situated at Navanagar, which is an industrial place in Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra, India. 740 MWe is the total installed capacity of the plant.

This is a combined cycle gas turbine and a fully operating power plant. The plant is mainly served as the base load in Maharashtra and the electric power grid is connected to the regional grid. Regassified LNG is the primary fuel used here. The gas supply needed for 90% PLF is 3.55 and the linkage is 1.5. The main source of fuel for the plant is from GAIL. This is obtained by importing LNG from Countries like Qatar, Iran, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, Brunei, Egypt and Algeria. The pipeline used for transferring the fuel is Dahej-Hazira-Panvel-Dabhol. The water required for the plant is mainly taken from Sea.

The plant has three different units. All the three units are commissioned on 13-May-1999. The first two units has an installed capacity of 240 MWe, while the third unit has an installed capacity of 260 MWe. GE USA is the turbine and generator manufacturer of the plant. The different turbine models used here are: Gas Turbine - 1 9001FA (unit 1), Gas Turbine - 2 9001FA (unit 2) and Steam Turbine - 1 (unit 3). Vogt is the boiler manufacturer of the plant. This is a joint venture ownership power plant and Ratnagiri Gas and Power Pvt Ltd (RGPL) is the owner of the plant holding all the 100% share. National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is the operating company of the plant.
