Rokhia Gas Thermal Power Plant

The Rokhia Gas Thermal Station is situated in Rokhia, West Tripura District, Tripura. The total installed capacity of the plant is 111 MWe.

The plant is a open cycle gas turbine and is a fully operating power plant. Here natural gas is used as the primary fuel. The gas supply needed for 90% PLF is 0.63 and the linkage is 0.6. The electric power from the plant is mainly connected to the regional grid and also the power is directed to Rokhia Substation. Fuel from the local gas fields is the main source of fuel.

The first two units are commissioned on 21-March-1990 and 26-November-1990, but these two units are decommissioned on 2006. Units 3 to unit 6 has an installed capacity of 8 MWe and units 7 to unit 9 has an installed capacity of 21 MWe. Units 3,4 are commissioned on 1995 and units 5,6 are commissioned on 1997. Units 7,8 and 9 are commissioned on 2002, 2006 and 2013 respectively. The turbine and generator manufacturer for all the units is BHEL. The turbine models used in all the units are Gas Turbine Frame 3. This is a state government ownership type power plant and Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited is the owner of the plant holding the 100% share of the plant. Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited is the operating company of the plant.
