Sagardighi Thermal Power Station is a thermal power plant erected at Manigram, which is 13 kilometre north of Sagardighi district of West Bengal in India. The power plant is owned and functioned by the West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited.The power plant had provided employment for more than 2,000 people.

Sagardighi Thermal Power Station is commissioned in September 7, 2008. The approved capacity of the thermal power plant is 1600 Megawatt and the installed capacity is also 1600 Megawatt. The status of the thermal power plant is Operational. The source of coal for the generation of power is Pachawar North and East of Damagaria Coal Mines. The source of coal is from the western bank of the Bhagirathi River. The primary fuel used for the generation of power is Coal. The Sagardighi Thermal Power Station is owned and operated by the West Bengal Power Development Corporation. The power plant is using Subcritical Technology. The beneficiary states of this thermal power plant are West Bengal and its neighbouring states. The source of financing is done by Power Finance Corporation (PFC).

The Unit Sizes of the Thermal Power Plant is 1600 Megawatt (300 x 2 units, 500 x 2 units). There are four units in operation and two units are in proposed phase. In Stage 1, the first and second units are commissioned and in Stage 2, the third and fourth units are commissioned. In Stage 3, there are fifth and sixth units which are proposed and yet to be commissioned. The first and second unitsare commissioned in 2008 September and 2008 November respectively with an installed capacity of 300 Megawatt for each units. Similarly the third and fourth units are commissioned in 2015 December and 2017 January respectively with an installed capacity of 500 Megawatt. The fifth and sixth units are proposed with an install capacity of 660 Megawatt and both of the units are yet to be commissioned.

You can arrive this Sagardighi Power Station via Road, Rail or Air. By Road, you would get transport buses or taxi services to reach the power station. Malda is the nearby well-connected city, and buses are available from Malda Bus station to power station throughout the day. Manigram railway station is the nearest railway station, which is well-connected to the other major cities of the country and is just 1 kilometer away from the power plant. Sagardighi has no airports and the nearest airport is Netaji Subhas Chandra Airport in Kolkata, which is about 190 km away.
