This is a natural gas-based combined cycle power plant with the capability of generating 58 Megawatt of power consisting of Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) power outcome of 39.20 Megawatt and Heat Recovery Steam Turbine Generator (STG) Power outcome of 18.75 Megawatt. The location of the power plant is in the Kalugurani village of Ramanathapuram in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, which was commissioned in the month of September in 2007.
The Sai Regency Power Corporation Private Limited is commissioned in September 2007. In the case of Environmental Clearance, the pollution control board of government of Tamil Nadu provided a ‘No Objection’ Certificate for setting up a gas based thermal power plant with an output of 58 Megawatt to produce electrical energy. After getting the Environmental Clearance, the construction of the power plant started and completed with an installed capacity of 58 Megawatt. It has also an approved capacity of 58 Megawatt. The status of this thermal power plant is also Operational. The Natural Gas for the production of thermal power plant is sourced from Gas Authority of India Limited. The Sai Regency Power Corporation is owned by the KSK Energy Ventures Limited. The beneficiary states of this thermal power plant are Tamil Nadu and its neighbouring states.
Sai Regency Power Corporation Private Limited uses the natural gas as its primary fuel and has contract with Gas Authority of India Limited for the acquisition of natural gas. The Operation of Sai Regency Power Corporation Private Limited commences processes and maintenance with precise works through select contractors. The Plant has been functioning at yearly Plant Load Factor of 85 percent and beyond over the past four years with subsequent reliable power supplies. SRPCPL had made several contracts with key consumers including Chemplast Sanmar Ltd, Precot Meridian Ltd, Brakes Ltd, Orchid Pharma and Chemical Pvt Ltd, Lakshmi Mills Ltd, Jaganath Apparels ltd, Harshini Apparels, Regency Company Ltd and several others.
The Unit Size of this thermal power plant is 58 Megawatt with 39 Megawatt is from Gas Turbine Power Output and 19 Megawatt is from Steam Turbine Power Output. There are two units in operation and they are Unit 1 and Unit 2. The Unit 1 is commissioned in September 2007 with an installed capacity of 39 Megawatt using Gas Turbine. After that the Unit 2 is commissioned in September 2007 with an installed capacity of 19 Megawatt using Steam Turbine.
