Sai Regency Power Plant Ramanathapuram

The Sai Regency CCGT Power Plant is situated at Ramanathapuram District. The exact location is at Kalugurani village, Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu. The total installed capacity of Sai Regency CCGT Power Plant is 58 MWe.

This is a fully operating and a combined cycle gas turbine power plant. Here natural gas is used as the primary fuel. The plant is mainly used as base load and the power from the plant is mainly connected to the regional grid. The main source of the fuel is from Cauvery Gas from GAIL (India) Ltd on a long-term contract.

The plant has two different units. The first unit is commissioned in September 2007 with an installed capacity of 38 MWe. The second unit is also commissioned in September 2007 with an installed capacity of 20 MWe. BHEL is the generator and turbine manufacturer of the plant. The turbine models used are Gas Turbine -1 (unit 1) and Steam Turbine -1 (unit 2). This is a CPP (Group captive Power Plant) ownership power plant and KSK Energy Ventures is the owner of the plant. Sai Regency Power (SRPCPL) is the operating company of the power plant. The power from the plant is given to a number of industrial customers including Chemplast Sanmar Limited, Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited, The Lakshmi Mills Company Limited, Precot Meridian Limited, Brakes India Limited...etc.
