Sarkarpathy Power House

Sarkarpathy Power House is erected in the Parambikulam River of Sarkarpathy in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu in India. The power project is commissioned in 1966. It has an approved and installed capacity of 30 MW. The basin of the power house is Parambikulam River and the Hydroelectric Basin of power house is east flowing rivers. The status of power house is completed and is functional. Parambikulam and Thunakadavu Reservoirs are the main reservoir for the power house. The power house is constructed in the southern hydroelectric region of the country. There is only a single Underground power house in the plant. The water source for generation of power in the power house is Parambikulam River.

The power house is owned by Tamil Nadu State Electricity Board under the management of Tamil Nadu Government. The operator of the power plant is TANGEDCO. The power generated from the power house is distributed to the houses of people living around the district of Coimbatore and its neighboring districts. The construction of the power house is completed in 1966 and soon it started its operations. The type of turbine used in the power house is Vertical Francis. The maker of both Turbine and Generator of the power plant is by the Hitachi Ltd of Japan. There is only a single turbine in the plant and capacity of that turbine is 30 MW. The Unit Size of power house is 30 MW having a single unit and that unit is commissioned in 1966.
