Sholayar I Hydroelectric Power House

Sholayar I Hydroelectric Power House is erected in the Sholayar River of Sholayar Dam City in the Coimbatore District of Tamil Nadu in India. The first unit of power house is commissioned in 1971. The approved and total installed capacity of power house is 70 MW. The basin of power house is Sholayar River. The hydroelectric basin of the power plant is East flowing rivers. The type of power project is Major (greater than 25 MW) and the type of plant is having a dam on the river with reservoir. The status of the power plant is Operational. The Main Reservoir of the plant is Upper Sholayar Reservoir. The power house is located in the country’s Southern Hydroelectric Region. There are two turbines in the power house and capacity of that turbine is 35 MW. There are two units in the plant and the total installed capacity of the plant is 70 MW. All the two units in the power house are commissioned.
