Shree Singaji Thermal Power Plant
Shree Singaji Super Thermal Power Project is a coalfired power station sited near to Dongaliya village adjacent to Mundi of Khandwa District in the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. This project is owned and controlled by MPPGCL. The Project was initiallyenvisioned to be built in three enlargementstages, but only two of the three stages have been allowed for erection.
The first stagecomprises of two units with a production capacity of 600 Megawatt each. First unit was commissioned in the month of February in 2014 and, till June 2014, the second unit is likely to complete in October 2014.The second stagecomprises of two units with production capacity of 660 Megawatt each. These units must be super critical thermal plants. From December 2014 onwards, the erection of stage two had not yet be started.
Shree Singaji Super Thermal Power Project is commissioned in 2014 February. The Approved capacity of this thermal power plant is 2520 Megawatt. Also the installed capacity of this thermal power plant is 2520 Megawatt. The status of this thermal power plant is operational. The source of coal for the production of power plant is from South Eastern Coalfields Limited and the source of water is from Indira Sagar Reservoir on Narmada River. The primary fuel of thermal power plant is Coal. Shree Singaji Super Thermal Power Plant is owned and operated by the Madhya Pradesh Power Generation Company Limited. The beneficiary states of this thermal power station are Madhya Pradesh and its neighbouring states.
The unit size of this thermal power plant is 2520 Megawatt (2 unit x 600 Megawatt + 2 unit x 660 Megawatt). There are two units in operation. They are Unit 1 and Unit 2. The power plant completed two stages. In first stage, both Unit 1 and Unit 2 are commissioned. However in Second Stage, both Unit 3 and Unit 4 are yet to be commissioned and is under construction. The first unit is commissioned in 2014, February with an installed capacity of 600 Megawatt. Similarly the second unit is commissioned in 2014, December with an installed capacity of 600 Megawatt. The third and fourth unit is yet to be commissioned with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt for each units. Both the third and fourth units are under construction. The source of financing is done by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Power Finance Corporation Limited.
