Sikasar Hydel Power Station
Sikasar Hydel Power Station is commissioned in 03 September 2006. The approved capacity of the power plant is 7 Megawatt and the installed capacity is also 7 Megawatt. The status of the hydroelectric power plant is running. The source of water for the generation of power in the hydroelectric power plant is Pairy River. This power plant is owned by Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited. The main aim behind the construction of Sikasar Hydel Power Station is to utilize the additional arrival of water in the reservoir during the rainy season for Incidental Power Generation and the released water is utilized for irrigation purpose.
The beneficiary states of the hydroelectric power station are Chhattisgarh and its nearby states. The total cost of project is 32.94 Crores. The power house civil work is executed by the M/s SEW Construction Limited and the power house Electrical and Mechanical work is executed by the M/s Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. The manufacturer of Generator transformer is M/s Crompton Greaves.
The unit sizes of the power plant are 7 Megawatt (That is, 2 units x 3.5 Megawatt). There are 2 units in operation and they are Unit 1 and Unit 2. The first unit is commissioned in 03 September 2006 with an installed capacity of 3.5 MW. Similarly the second unit is also commissioned in 03 September 2006 with an installed capacity of 3.5 MW. The type of turbine is vertical Kaplan having four runner blades with rated output of 3650 KW. The speed of turbine is 375 rpm. The level of full reservoir is 406.30. Through Power Evacuation, the produced power is exiled through 33KV Dhawalpur – I and II feeders.
