Sikaser Dam Power Plant

Sikaser Dam Power Plant is located in the Pairi dam of Raipur district in Chhattisgarh. The first unit of power plant is commissioned in 1977 with an installed capacity of 3.5 MWe. Here the total installed capacity of power plant is 7 MWe having two units of 3.5 MWe each. The type of project is small as its capacity is in between 3 and 25 MW. The current status of hydroelectric project is Operational. The power project started its operations in 1977. The power plant is built in Pairi Dam and its basin is Mahanadi River. The water source for the plant is Pairi River. The power project is erected in the Western Hydroelectric Region of the country.

The power plant is owned by State Government and the operating company is CSPGCL. The type of turbine used in the power house is Francis Turbine. There are two turbines used in the plant and the maker of both Turbine and Generator of the power plant is by the Fuji Japan. The Specific Speed of Turbine in the power house is 500 rpm. There are two units in operation and all are commissioned. So the unit size of plant is 7 MW having two units of 3.5 MW each.
