Singur Hydro Power Station

Singur Hydro Power Station is erected in the Singur dam of Medak district in Telangana. The power project is commissioned in 1999. Here the total capacity of the plant is 15 MWe. The type of project is small as its capacity is in the range of 3 and 25 Megawatt. The project status is Operational and the Hydroelectric Development Type of plant is Storage. The power house is sited in the Dam Toe. The construction of power house is completed in the year, 1999. The water for the project is sourced from the Majeera River of Godavari Basin. The region, where the hydroelectric project was erected is Southern Hydroelectric Region. East flowing rivers emerged in the southern part of india is the Hydroelectric Basin.

The power plant is owned by the State Government and the operating company of the power plant is TSGENCO. The Type of Turbine used in the power house is Kaplan Turbine. There are two turbines installed in the plant. The manufacturer of both Turbine and Generator of the power house is by the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited of India. The Annual Design Energy produced from the project is 49 MU. The turbine capacity of plant is 7.5 MW (per turbine) and the total capacity is 15 MW having two units of 7.5 MWe each. There are two units in operation and both are commissioned.
