Srisailam Right Bank Hydro Power Project

Srisailam Right Bank Hydroelectric project is erected in the Srisailam dam of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh. The power plant is commissioned in 1982 and the total installed capacity of the plant is 770 MW. The status of the plant is Operational. The water source and basin of plant is Krishna River, which is flowing in the Southern Hydroelectric Region of the country. The power plant is owned by Andhra Pradesh Government and the operating company is APGENCO. The total number of turbines used in the plant is seven and the capacity of each turbine of Srisailam Right Bank plant is 110 MW (per turbine). So the unit size of the plant is 770 MW having seven units of 110 MW each. Here all the units are commissioned.

Srisailam Left Bank Hydro Power Project

Srisailam Left Bank Hydroelectric project is erected in the Srisailam dam of Mahabubnagar district in Telangana. The power plant is commissioned in 2001 and the total installed capacity of the plant is 900 MW. Krishna River is the water source and basin for the power project (East flowing). The project is erected in the southern hydroelectric region of India. The power plant is owned by Telangana Government and the operating company is TSGENCO. The total number of turbines used in the plant is six and the capacity of each turbine of Srisailam Left Bank plant is 150 MW. So the unit size of the plant is 900 MW having six units of 150 MW each. Here all the units are commissioned.
