Talwandi Sabo Power Project
The proposed power station is being owned and operated by the Talwandi Sabo Power Limited, a project company formed by the State Government of Punjab for the venture but which is currently a completely possessed subsidiary of the self-financing firm, Vedanta Limited.
The first unit was installed in December 2013 and it became fully operational in the month of June in 2014. The first and third units were proposed to become operational in 2014-2015, when the coal linkage is moreoverheld for these units. The Commissioning of the second unit was conducted in the month of January in 2015, but the effortbecame unsuccessful due to a fire mishap incident. After that the second and third units are proposed for starting the operation in May and July 2015 respectively. But it is cancelled and the firm said it would start the operation later. The second was commissioned on 30 October 2015 and the third unit in March 2016.
Talwandi Sabo Power Project is commissioned in 2013 November. The Approved Capacity of the thermal power plant is 1980 Megawatt. The installed capacity is also 1980 Megawatt. The status of the thermal power plant is operational. The primary fuel used for the generation of power is Coal. The power plant is owned and operated by the Vedanta Limited. The type of technology used in the Plant is Super Critical Technology. The beneficiary states of the thermal power plant are Punjab and its neighbouring states.
The Unit Sizes of the Thermal Power plant is 1980 Megawatt (3 units x 660 Megawatt). There are three units in Operation they are Unit 1, Unit 2 and Unit 3. The first unit is commissioned in 2013 November with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt. After that the second unit is commissioned in 2015October with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt. And the third unit is commissioned in 2016 Marchwith an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt. A fourth unit is proposed for construction, but it is later cancelled.

You can arrive this thermal power station via Road, Rail or Air. Transport buses and taxi services are available from the Mansa city to the power station. Mansa Railway Station is the nearest well-connected railway station. Ludhiana Airport is the nearest airport, which is located at about 130 kilometers from Power Station.
