Tanir Bavi Barge Gas CCPP India

Tanir Bavi Barge Gas CCPP Power Station is situated in barge on gurupur river, Mangalore District, Karnataka. The overall capacity of Tanir Bavi Barge Gas CCPP Power Station is 220 MWe.

This is a fully operating and a combined cycle gas turbine type power plant. Here naphtha is used as the primary fuel and natural gas is used as the secondary fuel. The main source of water is from the Gurupur river, Mangalore. The plant has five different units. All the five units are commissioned in the year 2001. The first four units has an installed capacity of 40 MWe and the fifth unit has an installed capacity of 60 MWe. The turbine manufacturers for the plant are GE LM6000 (for units 1 to 4) and Alstom ABB (unit 5). Alstom is the generator manufacturer for all units. The boiler manufacturers are Innovative Steam Technologies (for units 1 to 4) and Hyundai (unit 5).

The turbine models used are: Gas Turbine-1 LM6000PC, Gas Turbine-2 LM6000PC, GT-3 LM6000PC, GT-4 LM6000PC (for units 1 to 4) and Steam Turbine-1 (unit 5). This is an IPP ownership type power plant. PSEG Global and GMR Vasavi are the owners of the power plant. Hyundai Design Engineering Constructors (HDEC) is the construction contractor and Tanir Bavi Power Co. Pvt. Ltd. is the operating company of the plant.
