Tenughat Thermal Power Station Lalpania
The Tenughat Thermal Power Station is commissioned in September 1996. The approved capacity of the thermal power plant is 420 Megawatt. The installed capacity is also 420 Megawatt. The status of the thermal power plant is Operational. The source of coal for the generation of power is from the East Bokaro and West Bokaro Collieries (Unit 1 and Unit 2) and Rajbar E & D coal block (Unit 3 and Unit 4). The primary fuel used is Coal. The type of coal used is Bituminous. The Power plant is using the Subcritical Technology for first and second units. The power plant is owned and operated by the Tenughat Vidyut Nigam Limited. The beneficiary states of this thermal power plant are Jharkhand and its neighbouring states.
The Unit Sizes of the Thermal Power Plant are 420 Megawatt (210 Megawatt x 2 units). There are two units in operation in the first stage. They are Unit 1 and Unit 2. The first unit is commissioned in 1994 with an installed capacity of 210 Megawatt. Similarly, the second unit is commissioned in 1996 with an installed capacity of 210 Megawatt. In Stage 2, the two units are announced with an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt. Both of the power plants are yet to be commissioned.
