Surajkund in Haryana

Surajkund is an olden reservoir built by a Rajput king, Surajpal Tomar of Tomar dynasty in the 10th century to respect the rising sun. The remains of a Sun Temple can also be seen around the lake. The place is located at about two kilometers away from south west of an ancient dam called Anagpur Dam said to be built in 8th century. Surajkund literally means Lake of the Sun, that is Suraj means Sun and Kund means Lake.
