1. Hampi Places and History

4. Coorg Travel with History
Coorg is a beautiful place situated in the south western part of Karnataka neighboring with kerala. According to 2001 census, the population of coorg is estimated as around 5.5 lakh. The area of the place is around 4102 square kilometers with about ninty six kilometer towards north south and about sixty four kilometer towards east west. Kodagu is the other name of Coorg. There are several peaks in the place and they are Tadiyandamol which is 1750 meters high, Brahmagiri, Tumbe Male, Kote Betta, Nishani Motte, Soma Male and the Pushpagiri. The main attraction of this place includes its natural beauty, the people there and their culture and the food, which draws more tourists towards Coorg.
Coorg History: According to history, Coorg was ruled by the Gangas during ninth and tenth centuries. But Cholas captured the place in 11thcentury and ruled till 14th century. After that Changalvas came into existence and they ruled from fourteenth to sixteenth century. After that Nayakas with Haleri Rajas of Kodagu ruled the Coorg till 1834.

5. Nagarhole National Park with Accommodation
Nagarhole National Park is one of the most popular parks in India. The place is located near Coorg and is about ninety three kilometers away towards south-west away side of Mysore. The place is spread over 643 sq kilometers (247 square-miles) of forest and is a home for large mammals such as panthers, elephants, dhole, gaurs, barking deers, tigers, bears and so on. This Park was started in 1955. However in 1975, the area was expanded with the aim to preserve the forest. In a terrible fire incident happened in the year 1992, all forest was burnt, but now it is completely changed and is on the way to recovery. People can settle at Forest Department guest house by making special reservation for Nagarhole National Park accommodation. As it is with least amenities and green forest is much more eye-catching than the Bandipur vegetation (Mysore).
The name of the park is so, since a few serpentine streams split through the forests. It is derived from the addition of two kannada words, namely Nagar and Hole. Literally, Nagar means Snake and hole means river streams. The forest was early used by the Maharajas of Mysore for the purpose of hunting. The name of the park was recently changed to Rajiv Gandhi National Park and was credited as one of the best wildlife park in India. A dam located over the Kabini River and its charming reservoir is other attractions of this place. During the month from February to June (Summer Season) the lakes will attracts a huge number of birds and animals, making it a perfect spot for sighting wildlife.
How to Reach? Two bus services daily from Mysore are available to reach Nagarhole.
Climate: During the month from February to May (Summer Season), max temperature will be 33°C, and during winter season, the temperature will drop upto 14°C. Monsoon is unpredictable, but it usually rains from June to September. April-May is the best time to visit this wildlife.
Accommodation: The Karnataka Forest Department runs two rest houses in this place for the purpose of tourist staying. Reservation has to be made through Forest Department Offices in Mysore or Bangalore for Accomodation.
