Anpara Thermal Power Station:

The Anpara Power Plant is erected near Anpara village in the district of Sonebhadra in Uttar Pradesh. It is a coal fired thermal power plant. There are nine units in operation, having a total installation capacity of 3830 Megawatt. The power plant has nine units in operation with first three units have an installed capacity of 210 Megawatt each. The fourth and fifth units have an installed capacity of 500 Megawatt each. Similarly the sixth and seventh units have an installed capacity of 600 Megawatt and the eighth and ninth unit has an installed capacity of 500 Megawatt.

Obra Thermal Power Station:

Obra Thermal Power Station is located in the Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. The power plant is controlled by the UPRVUNL. It is a coal based thermal power station. The first unit of power station is commissioned in 1967 August and the last unit was commissioned in 1982. Most of the equipment of power station is manufactured by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. There is a proposal to increase two more units of 660 MW each to the power station.

Panki Thermal Power Station

Panki Thermal Power Station is located at Panki town of Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh, which is about sixteen kilometres away from Kanpur. It is a coal based thermal power station. The power plant has an installed capacity of 220 Megawatt in the first two units. As for future expansion, a third unit is decided by the Uttar Pradesh government in July 2014 for an installed capacity of 660 Megawatt to the plant. The plan will be executed by BHEL as they are taken the EPC Contract of the project.

Parichha Thermal Power Station

Parichha Thermal Power Station is located at Parichha town in the Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh. It is a coal fired power station. The power plant has constructed 6 units in two stages. The machinery for the power station is manufactured by BHEL India, ABB, Alstom and Yokogawa. The source of coal for the power plant is from the coal mines of ECL and BCCL via rail. The total installed capacity of the power plant is 1140 Megawatt. There are six units in power plant. All the units except Unit 1 are operational. The first unit is commissioned in 31 March 1984 and the last unit is commissioned in 17 September 2012.

Harduaganj Thermal Power Station

Harduaganj Thermal Power Station is located at Harduaganj town of Aligarh district in Uttar Pradesh. The status of the power plant is Operational. The construction of the plant is began in 2006. The Owner and Operator of the power plant is Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. The primary fuel used for the generation of power is Coal. The installed capacity of the thermal plant is 665 Megawatt. There are 4 units in Operational and they are Unit 1, Unit 2, Unit 3 and Unit 4.

Under Construction Projects:

Meja Thermal Power Station: The power plant is owned jointly by Meja Urja Nigam Private Limited and NTPC Limited, with a 50:50 equity. The installed capacity is 1320 MW (2 units X 660 MW).

Karchana Thermal Power Station: It has an installed capacity of 1320 Megawatt (2 units X 660 Megawatt)

Harduaganj Extension 2: Extension of 660 MW (1 unit ×660 MW) in the power plant.

Jawaharpur Super Thermal Power Station: The power station is located in the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh. The power plant have an installed capacity of 1320 MW (2 unit x660 MW) and is operatedby the Doosan Power Systems India (DPSI).

Ghatampur Thermal Power: Installed capacity of 1980 MW (3 unit x660 MW)

Obra C Thermal Power Plant: Installed capacity of1320 MW (2 unit × 660 MW)

Tanda Stage 2 NTPC Thermal Power Plant: Installed capacity of1320 MW (2 unit × 660 MW)
