Uran Gas Turbine Power Station
Uran Gas Turbine Power Station is situated in Maharashtra. The exact location of the plant is at Bokadvira Village, Ransai Dam, Raigad district, Maharashtra, India. The total installed capacity of the plant is 912 MWe.
The plant is a fully operating and is a combined cycle gas turbine power plant. Here natural gas is used as the primary fuel and light fuel oil/ diesel is served as the secondary fuel. The gas supply needed for 90% PLF is 4.38 and the linkage is 3.3. the power from the plant is connected to the substation as 4 X 220kV lines to Apta Sub Station and 2 X 220kV lines to Kharghar Sub Station. Seawater is taken as the main source of water in this plant.
The plant has 10 different units.the first unit is commissioned in 20-February-1982. The first four units has an installed capacity of 60 MWe and is commissioned in the year 1982. The units 5 to 8 have an installed capacity of 108 MWe. the units 5,6 and 7 is commissioned in 1985 and the eigth unit is commissioned in 1986. the ninth and tenth units has an installed capacity of 120 MWe and is commissioned in 16-March-1994. KWU Germany is the turbine and the generator manufacturer for units 1 to 8 and Siemens Germany is the turbine and generator manufacturer for units 9 and 10. Deutsche Babcock is the boiler manufacturer of the plant. The turbine models used in different units are: Gas Turbine V 93 (for units 1 to 4), gas Turbine V94..2 (for units 5 to 8) and Steam Turbine (for units 9 and 10). This is a state government ownership power plant and Maharashtra State Power Generation Co Ltd is the owner of the plant having all the 100% shares. Siemens, Lahmeyer, Tata are the construction contractors and Maharashtra State Power Generation Co Ltd is the operating company of the plant.
