Utran I Gas Based CCPP

Utran I Gas Based CCPP is situated at Utran, which is a main town in Surat district, Gujarat, India. The overall installed capacity of Utran Gas Based CCPP is 135 MWe.

Utran I Gas CCGT Power Plant is a combined cycle gas turbine power plant and is mainly serving as base load in Utran. This is a fully operating power plant and natural gas is used as the primary fuel. Naptha is the secondary fuel used here and the boiler configuration is 3 Gas Turbine and 1 Steam Turbine. Water from Tapti river is the main source of water.

The plant has four different units. The first and second units are commissioned on 17- December- 1992 and 28-december- 1992 respectively. The last unit (fourth unit) is commissioned on 17-July-1993. The first three units have an installed capacity of 30 MWe and the fourth unit has an installed capacity of 45 MWe. The turbine and generator manufacturers are Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited. The turbine models used here are: GT-1 6001, GT-2 6001 (for units 1 and 2) and GT-3 Frame-6B Sr No 032, ST-1 (for units 3 and 4). This is a state government ownership power plant and Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL) is the owner of the plant. The operating company of the plant is also Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL).
