Vatva Combined Cycle Power Plant (gas based)

Vatva (Torrent) CCGT Power Plant is situated at Vatva Industrial Estate, Ahmedabad District, Gujarat State, India. The overall installed capacity of Vatva Combined Cycle Power Plant is 100 MWe.

Vatva Combined Cycle Power Plant is a combined cycle gas turbine and a fully operating power plant. The plant is mainly used as base load in Vatva. Here natural gas is served as the primary fuel and light fuel oil/diesel is serving as secondary fuel. The electric power grid is mainly connected to the regional grid, the linkage required is 0.48 and the gas supply needed for 90% PLF is 0.48.

The plant has three different units. The first two units has an installed capacity of 32.5 MWe. The first unit is commissioned on 29-December-1990 and the second unit is commissioned on 26-June-1991. the third unit has an installed capacity of 35 MWe and is commissioned on 18-October-1991. GE/BHEL Hyderabad is the turbine manufacturers of the plant. the different turbine models used in different units are: GT-1 Frame 6 (unit 1), GT-2 Frame 6 (unit 2) and ST-1 (unit 3). The generator manufacturers are BHEL Hyderabad. This is an IPP ownership type power plant and Ahmedabad Electric Co. Ltd. and Torrent Power is the owner of the plant. Torrent Power is the operating company of the plant.
