Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation
The Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation otherwise called as CESC is a public limited company registered as an Electric utility industry. It is founded in Kolkata by the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, under the chairmanship of a businessman named RP Goenka. The headquarters of the CESC is located at Kolkata in India. The CESC is primarily focussing the areas of West Bengal for power generation, distribution and mining.
The Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation is serving 567 square kilometres of area managed by the Kolkata municipal corporation, in the city of Kolkata in West Bengal. It assists 3 million customers almost, which comprises domestic, commercial and industrial uses. Calcutta Electric Supply owns and operates 5 coal fired thermal power plants and a gas fuelled power plants.

1. Budge Budge Thermal Power Station
Budge Budge Thermal power station is a coal fired thermal power plant located in the budge budge town of South 24 Parganas district in West Bengal. It has an installed capacity of 750 Megawatt. It is considered as one of the best Power Stations in India. It became fully functional in 1997.
2. Southern Thermal Power Station
Southern Thermal Power Station is a coal fired thermal power plant located in the Kolkata district of West Bengal. It has an installed capacity of 135 Megawatt. The power plant is owned and operated by the CESC Limited. It becomes fully functional in the year of 1990.
3. Titagarh Thermal Power Station
Titagarh Thermal Power Station is also a coal fired thermal power plant erected in the Titagarh town in the Kolkata city of West Bengal. It has an installed capacity of 240 Megawatt (4 units x 60 MW).It became fully operational in 1983.
4. Dhariwal Power Station
Dhariwal Power Station also called as CESC Chandrapur Thermal Power Station is a coal fired thermal power plant erected in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra with an installed capacity of 600 Megawatt. The plant is owned and operated by the Dhariwal Infrastructure Limited, which is a subsidiary of CESC Limited
5. Haldia Energy Power Station
Haldia Energy Power Station is a coal fired thermal power plant erected in the Haldia town of Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal with an installed capacity of 600 Megawatt. The plant is owned and functioned by Haldia Energy Limited, which is a subdivision of CESC Limited.
6. Kasba Thermal Power Station
Kasba Thermal Power Station is the only gas fired thermal power plant of CESC, erected in the Kasba town of West Bengal with an installed capacity of 600 Megawatt.
