Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh is one among the coastal cities in India. It is also a harbor city and is the only ship building district in India. In BC 260, the city was a division of Kalinga Empire under the reign of King Asoka and it is transferred through successive rulers. In the 15th century, it came under Vijayanagar Empire.
