Upper Sindh Hydroelectric Project is located in the Sindh Nallah River of union territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The power project is commissioned on 1973 with a total installed capacity of 22.6 MW. The project is completed in 1973 and its current status is Operational. The water source for the project is Sindh Nallah River, which is a tributary of Jhelum. The location of the project is Hydroelectric Region of North India.

The power plant is owned by the State Government and the operating company of the plant is JKPDC Limited. The name of Weir, which is associated with the project, is Upper Sindh - I Weir. The name of the power house which is constructed for the project is Upper Sindh - I Power House and its type is Surface. It is now operational and there is no pumped Storage in the power house. There are two turbines in the power house and the installed capacity of all turbines is 22.6 MW. The type of turbine installed in the power house is Francis and its rated speed is 500 rpm. The maker of both Turbine and Generator of the power station is by the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited of Bhopal in India. There are two units, each of it has a capacity of 11.3 MW.
